Prep Your Practice for the 21st Century Cures Act

With endless information at our fingertips, patients now want access to their health record information. To give patients more transparency, the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) gave the final ruling on the 21st Century Cures Act, on May 20, 2020. This rule directly impacts healthcare providers, patients, and health IT developers.

The new rule aims to give patients better, more meaningful access to their health records by eliminating information blocking—any activity or policy that is likely to interfere with access, exchange, or use of electronic health information, except as required by law or covered by one of the exceptions defined by the ONC.
