The Trade Show: an Exchange of Ideas – Forward Together

Vision Expo West has come and gone and it’s hard to believe October is already here. Time is moving so quickly I can barely hold on to my hat – although that may have something to do with my lack of hair.

Las Vegas was a frenzy of luggage, hotels, customer meet-ups, comedic relief and, if I’m being honest, a bit of exhaustion. Looking back on it all, I can say how truly worthwhile it was to see so many of you there. Trade shows are such a unique opportunity for our community of eye care professionals to connect with each other for an exchange of ideas, to think about market trends, and to witness the latest optometric innovations. And they are always plenty of fun, too!

While we all have our different reasons for attending industry trade shows, we share one common motivation: discovering new ways to do what we do, even better. Whether through CE classes or product demonstrations, events like Vision Expo are ideal for challenging ourselves and our ways of thinking.

The thing we often don’t talk about is what happens when we get home. I would love to open up a forum for discussion on what you learned at Vision Expo West that excited you about the future of Optometry. Let’s pay it forward together in our communities and through our social networks. Send me an email at with your thoughts or leave a comment below. #ForwardTogether
