Vision Expo West has come and gone and it’s hard to believe October is already here. Time is moving so quickly I can barely hold on to my hat – although that may have something to do with my lack of hair. Continue reading

With all of the natural disasters that have impacted the United States and its territories, the Caribbean, and Mexico in the past month, it’s hard to believe that we have an ounce of control in this world. On behalf of everyone at Eyefinity, we send our most sincere condolences to everyone who has experienced loss or been displaced. Know that we support you and that our hearts are filled with hope. What’s Your Calling? – Forward Together

When my youngest daughter Annie was four years old, we were vacationing in Hawaii enjoying the beach and the quiet pace of life. One night as we were getting ready to go out for dinner, I asked Annie, “Where are your shoes?”  She innocently recalled that the last time she’d seen them was three or four days earlier. Isn’t that what vacation is all about? That moment has been an anchor for me for many years – a reminder to live in the now. It applies in my work life as well. Maybe you have a similar story.  Continue reading

The Ultimate Field Guide to Vision Expo West

Crowds, booths, classes, oh my! There’s a lot going on at Vision Expo West, so we’ve compiled some must-know tips for VEW first timers.

Las Vegas Sign

Don’t Go Hangry (hunger and anger aren’t a good combo in Vegas)
Head over to the Food Court no later than 11:30 a.m. By noon, you’re more likely to win the jackpot than avoid a massive line.

To avoid the afternoon crash, stop by Eyefinity booth #17114 at 2:00 p.m. every day for a free pick-me-up snack.

When You Gotta Go…
Use the restrooms in Medical & Scientific Pavilion. These hidden gems are the least-used restrooms on the show floor.

Layer Up
Bring a light sweater to have on the show floor. While the strip can feel like the Sahara, the Sands Expo and Convention Center is cold enough for a penguin to think he’s home.

Grab a Bag
Be prepared to receive a wheelbarrow’s worth of flyers, giveaways, and business cards. Don’t forget to pick up a free Premier bag when you first enter the show floor.

Take these tips with you to VEW and come by our booths #17114 or #MS12043!

My Vice President of Marketing quips that she sees herself as the connective tissue within the organization, citing that she needs to know a bit of everything to craft messages that fit like a glove. It’s a bit of crazy perspective, but when I think on it, she’s right. Continue reading

I want to personally share with you the next video in our #ForwardTogether video series featuring Dr. Masoud Nafey. I am proud to have Dr. Nafey on the Eyefinity team. We are so fortunate as a company to work alongside several doctors who drive our software forward together. Dr. Nafey has an inspiring story to share about his path to Optometry and the importance of making personal connections with patients. I am humbled to call him a colleague and friend.
