James Kirchner, O.D. will be presenting: ‘Getting the “Gold” in Meaningful Use’
Dr. Mason Smith has been in private practice for over 30 years, and was chairman of the Board for Vision Service Plan from 1998-2000. He received his MBA from The Citadel, and his Doctorate of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry.
Robert L. Bass, O.D. will be presenting: ‘Jumping the Hurdles: How-to Advice’
Dr. Bass is a proud 1978 alumnus from the Collegeof Williamand Mary, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He graduated with honors from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennesseein 1982. At Southern, he was accepted into Beta Sigma Kappa, the International Optometric Honor Society and achieved membership in Sigma Alpha Sigma, the college’s Optometric Honor Society. In 1986, Dr. Bass became a Fellow in the AmericanAcademyof Optometry.
Dr. Bass has practiced optometry in the same location in Manassas, Virginia since graduation. He is a member and former president of the Battlefield Optometric Society ,president–elect of the Board of Trustees of the Virginia Optometric Association and served 10 years on the board of directors for Vision Service Plan, the largest vision insurance company in the United States. In addition, he is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Southern Council of Optometrists, and the Virginia Academy of Optometry.
An accomplished professional, Dr. Bass is also an avid fisherman and a dedicated family man. He lives in the city of Manassas with his wife and two daughters. He is active in several community organizations and is a member and former president of the Manassas Host Lions Club.
Ryan Wineinger, O.D. will be presenting: ‘Building the Platform: Templates’
Dr. Wineinger received his undergraduate degree from Kansas University. He then graduated from The Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. After graduation he went into practice with his father at Wineinger Eyecare. Dr. Wineinger thoroughly enjoys the technological side of optometry and in the past five years has made concentrated efforts to bring in the latest equipment to ensure that his patients are receiving the highest level of comprehensive care possible in regards to their eyesight. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Greater Kansas City Optometric Society.
Dr. Jeffrey Willig will present: ‘Rowing Through Exam Documentation’
Dr. Jeffrey Willig is a Phi Beta Kappa, Suma Cum Laude graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and an AOA graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed an Internship in Medicine at New York University Hospital, a residency in Ophthalmology at Lenox Hill Hospital and a fellowship in Ocular Immunology and Uveitis at EmoryUniversity. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
He had been in private practice in suburban New York for 25 years and was the Director of the Uveitis Service of the North Shore University Health System and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Hofstra University School of Medicine. He recently moved to Naples Florida where he joined a large group practice. He has authored articles and book chapters in the field of Uveitis and was active in teaching Ophthalmology Residents.
An advocate of technology in the practice of Ophthalmology, Dr. Willig has been an Officemate user for 15 years and has used ExamWriter EHR for the past 3 years. He currently serves on the Professional Industry Council for Eyefinity.
Mary Anne C. Murphy, O.D. , will present ‘Carrying the Torch with Equipment Interfaces’
Dr. Murphy believes in providing the highest level of personalized care to her patients and carries this philosophy into every patient encounter. She lives her dream in a private group practice in Broomfield, Colorado. After starting cold 6 years ago, she has grown her practice to three doctors and 11 staff attributing her success to efficiencies in technology and excellent staff. A self proclaimed “gadget-junkie” Dr Murphy is quick to adapt new technology while continuing to search for ways to exceed her patient’s expectation. Dr. Murphy serves on the advisory board for many industry partners and serves as the US Chair for Optometry Giving Sight. She spends her free time with her husband and two children exploring the Colorado mountains.
